We are proud to announce that we will be carrying out website development part of the Cornwall College Business Schools' SMART Enterprise scheme.

 

Who is this course for?

SMART Enterprise is an exciting new short programme offering 7 sessions in basic business and management skills training free of charge! If you live and work in Cornwall for a minimum of 8 hours a week or are registered self-employed then you will be eligible to join this programme. These courses are designed to be a practical introduction to the key elements you will need to be aware of when creating and managing your own business. The workshops will be relevant, very practical, with no assessments or examinations taking place, and taught by highly experienced business professionals and tutors. SMART Enterprise is split into 2 distinct groups to choose from:-

Business Beginnings- for those individuals who are considering becoming self-employed or setting up their own business.

Business Enterprise- for those individuals who are already self-employed or currently managing a business, who need to develop their business skills and knowledge to move the business forward.

 

Entry requirements

No specific entry qualifications required but you do need to be working a minimum of 8 hours a week or self-employed and preferably not have already gained a *Level 3 or above qualification in Business or Management. *Entry criteria can be discussed on an individual basis with the project manager

 

Course overview

The workshops will be relevant, very practical, with no assessments or examinations taking place, and taught by highly experienced business professionals and tutors. Whichever group you choose there will also be additional skills embedded into the programme including time and stress management, confidence-building and assertiveness, communication, team-building and personal development. You will also be offered an individual information, advice and guidance session as well as the opportunity to work with a business coach/mentor after the course has been completed.

 

What's next?

The SMART Enterprise programme will have given you basic business skills and the confidence to progress further with your business idea. However, after you've completed these 7 introductory sessions there will also be the opportunity to progress onto other courses e.g Degree Level short courses, professional business/ management workshops or possibly onto a Higher Education programme.
